PFOX Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays

PFOX needs your prayers and support

December 2011

Dear Friends,

2011 has been one of the busiest years that PFOX has experienced. The battle to bring truth and love to those who struggle with unwanted same-sex attractions, gender identity disorder, and the families who love them has been an uphill battle. Anti-ex-gay activists and the liberal media who support them have attacked PFOX, people of faith, and families who support equal access and want their children to be taught the facts about sexual orientation.

PFOX started the year off in February by attending the CPAC Conference in Washington DC. PFOX was the only conservative ex-gay organization in attendance.

PFOX hosted a booth at the American Association of Christian Councilors International Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. PFOX president Greg Quinlan staffed our booth, was able to answer questions from an ex-gay perspective, and be visible proof that changing sexual orientation is possible. Also staffing the PFOX booth was Donna Lawlor, wife of an ex-gay man. Donna is a witness for the fact that marriages and families can be saved through prayer, honesty, and hard work. Ex-gay families can and do raise beautiful, healthy families.

This fall, PFOX was one of only 175 organizations invited to the Federal Partners in Bullying Summit. Presenting our Bully Brochure at the conference was ex-gay Christopher Doyle. PFOX believes bullying is a serious problem for all children. Please read, copy, and distribute the Bully brochure at www.pfox.org.

PFOX ended our travels by hosting a booth at the Value Voters Conference in Washington DC. The Value Voters Conference gave us the opportunity to meet candidates seeking the nomination to run as the Republican presidential candidate in 2012. PFOX provided the candidates with ex-gay resources and the opportunity to meet ex-gays. PFOX President Greg Quinlan wore his Ex-gays Ok button throughout the weekend, a visible sign that invited people to ask questions.

Throughout the year, PFOX distributed thousands of backpack fliers to numerous schools and shared our resources with organizations around the country. PFOX issued several press releases and were guests on radio and television shows. PFOX maintained a web and blog site to share our testimonies nationwide.

The costs of producing our newsletter and postage has risen. Issuing press releases, traveling expenses, and renting booth space to attend national conferences have stretched our budget to the max.

As the year ends and we look forward to 2012, the fact is we need to raise more money than ever before. Our freedoms are under attack. Equal access, free speech, freedom of religion, and the right to self-determination are being taken away, and ex-gays are on the chopping block. Organizations like PFOX are the target. PFOX needs your prayers and financial support. We cannot succeed in getting our message out without advertising, media support, and attending national conferences. We understand how difficult it is during the ongoing recession. For some of you to donate, it means giving up something else. How do you place a value on saving our children and being able to bring them the gift of hope? We must provide help to those who are being denied the hope for change they need. No child should be denied help.

PFOX is a not-for-profit 501(c)3. Please make a tax-deductible gift as this year ends so we will be able to meet the challenges of 2012. Remember that PFOX is an all-volunteer organization. We are not funded by any church or organization. Without you, our families and friends, we could not exist.

Blessings,

Regina Griggs
